DC SCORES (soccer & poetry) Support Needed

Malcolm X ES (MXES) specifically needs volunteers who are willing to help out with soccer practice sessions from 4:15 to 5:15 PM time blocks, as well as volunteers who are willing to ride the DC SCORES bus on game days. Volunteers would help students with their jerseys and distribute equipment, as well offer assistance during the games.

Game days are scheduled usually on Wednesdays for the 1st and 2nd graders, and game days are usually scheduled on Thursdays for the 3rd-5th grade group.

There are also days when games get cancelled due to inclement weather, in which the coaches would then hold a soccer practice at school.

Once the game ends, the bus will drop all the players to Hart Middle School for their parents to pick them up.  Volunteers are more than welcome to depart, ride share from Hart, or return on the bus back to the swing location to depart from MXES.

Volunteers would just need to fill out the following online agreement form to be able to ride the bus:

If interested, please complete Steps 1 and 2 of the Background Check Process below, then complete the form above and contact Hannah Hong through Hannah.Hong@k12.dc.gov.

Will you be away for a week or two? No worries!  Volunteering is flexible – we’d love to have as many people involved including any friends or family who might be interested. Volunteers are also welcome and encouraged to join during and after school hours.
