Interview
Our director, Tom Pollak, would love to speak with you over the phone or, even better, in person to determine how we can best help your organization. We are located in Columbia Heights.

If we determine your organiztion is a great match for DCTMI, we will ask for any additional details necessary to start the process. Welcome to the DCTMI family!

Vetting
We require all of our partner organization to have a process for performing background checks on all new volunteers
Orientation
We want to make sure all of our volunteers are prepared to work with you, which is why we require you train all new volunteers.
Volunteer Support
All partner organizations must have a staff avaliable ready to support volunteers should the need arise
Timeliness
We want to make sure our volunteers are able to start working with you as soon as possible, which is why we strongly suggest that you are able to process and contact new volunteers within 2-3 business days.
Keep us Updated
We rely on accurate information to best match our volunteers with your organization, which is why we need you to update us on any changes to your programs as quickly as possible.
Brand Awareness
We list you as a partner organization online and provide your contact information to volunteers. If you have any concerns about this, please let us know during the interview.
We’re excited about our partnership!
In a nutshell, DCTMI partners with more than 50 nonprofit tutoring, mentoring, and after-school programs and schools in the District of Columbia and in the adjacent suburbs. Our commitment is to find volunteers for our partners. We do NOT charge anything for the service but do ask that our partners be responsive to us and to the volunteers that we connect to your organization and that you have processes in place for criminal background checks, training, and support of your volunteers.
